REFORM UK WILL HAVE ITS OWN TELEVISION SHOW

“Dear viewer, I know you are wonderful, clever people and will remain loyal to GB News,” said Jacob Rees-Mogg on Friday night, staring down the barrel of the camera to those watching his State of the Nation show.  Why should the former cabinet minister feel the need to issue such a rallying cry? Because rumour has it that Reform UK is about to spend a chunk of its recent £72 million windfall launching its own TV channel.

: “One of the things that Reform is expected to spend its new-found fortune on is apparently launching its own TV channel. That will come as a surprise to those who thought it already had one – GB News, on which the party’s leader Nigel Farage has a well-remunerated slot to hold court at 7pm every night.” It seems, though, that the party wants to escape the clutches of Paul Marshall’s money-losing outfit and broadcast its own, unexpurgated output. Reform already has its own broadcast-standard TV studio at its headquarters on Millbank, opposite the Houses of Parliament, and intends to stream its channel on YouTube which, outside the auspices of Ofcom, will not have to worry about even the thin veneer of impartiality demanded by GB News.

The worry for GB News is not only that the channel will be a direct competitor – a growing proportion of its viewership is on YouTube, via smart TVs – but that Farage may take a large chunk of its staff with him.

Insiders at the channel also wonder if Farage might peel away some of its on-air ‘talent’ too. Martin Daubney, Patrick Christy's, Michelle Dewberry and Matt Goodwin are among those said to have been hired at Farage’s suggestion, while party chair Lee Anderson is unlikely to remain at GB News once his own party’s channel goes live.

Farage does, however, hold nearly half a million shares (roughly a 2% stake) in GB News’s parent company All Perspectives Ltd through his personal media firm, Thorn in the Side Ltd – something which might concentrate the mind.

RPBERT JENRICK REPORTED TO PREVENT

Robert Jenrick has been reported to the police and the Prevent programme after he made comments this week about Islam and Britain. Shiver me timbers…Speaking on Dan Wootton’s YouTube show, the Reform Shadow Chancellor said he agreed with a Trump post about Europe:“Yes, I do. Look, mass migration, the disastrous pursuit of multiculturalism and a willingness to tolerate radical Islam is destroying Europe…

Radical Islam is a threat to everything that we hold dear in this country. That it has to be fought and destroyed. It has to be eradicated from our country. And that we can’t allow the creeping Islamification of the United Kingdom…The Islamification of this country is one perhaps the greatest threat to our way of life right now…Wearing the burka, Shari’ah courts, hate preachers. End every one of these as quickly as possible, then maybe we’ve got a fighting chance of saving our country from going down the same path as France has clearly gone down.”

LABOUR AT ITS BEST

Labour politicians have accepted nearly £300,000 worth of gifts and hospitality from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Manchester City, according to an investigation. It comes after Manchester City, owned by Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Mansour since 2008, was found guilty last month of more than 100 breaches of Premier League financial regulations. An independent commission ruled the club used sham commercial agreements to inflate revenues and conceal more than £900million in costs between 2009 and 2018. City denies wrongdoing and has appealed the decision.

Labour still easily bought!!!!!!!

Andy Burnham is reported to be "rushing" to make a significant change that could affect millions of individuals.

Amid growing speculation that he will trigger an early general election, the Prime Minister is believed to be fast-tracking legislation to abolish photo ID requirements at polling stations, according to the Telegraph.

The contentious reforms would allow people to cast their ballot using merely a bank card for identification purposes.

Labour Loses Control of London Borough After Councillor Was Charged With Fraud

“Gurbachan Singh Athwal, 75, of Southall, was charged with fraud by abuse of position following an investigation by detectives from the Metropolitan Police. He was charged via postal requisition on Friday, 25 September following a voluntary interview in October 2025. He will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 27 October. The charges relate to a role he held as treasurer of a community organisation from 2014 to 2022.”

Things are hotting up for the most irrelevant party in British politics. The LibDems are beginning to register a pulse…The party’s treasury spokesman Charlie Maynard resigned this morning. The party’s care and carers spokesman Alison Bennett also stepped down this week…Deputy leader Daisy Cooper told the FT: “We Liberal Democrats are the last line of defence against a Reform UK government and Ed is determined to lead a strong and united party into the next general election.” The cosy-up-to-Labour election…Parliament comes back next week. It’s all coming to a head…

The sitting French finance minister Roland Lescure told the BBC this morning: “British people decided, and that’s obviously their 100% right, and if they’re willing to come back, they will have to decide… But what I can tell them is: come back, anytime.” France is in the throes of a supermassive debt crisis. Its bond yields are at the highest level in decades and the spread between French and German yields are at levels so alarming that onlookers fear a wider eurozone crisis is on the way. Good luck to the European Central Bank, which may need to start buying up bonds in large quantities…

HUMAN DUMB - NOT HUMAN DOME

Kemi Badenoch has insisted £10 billion would be enough to build the Conservatives’ planned ‘Britannia Shield’ air defence system which leads the Tory agenda this morning. At the time of going to pixel, Badenoch is touring the broadcast studios to explain where the cash will come from. And to claim it won’t be called an ‘Iron Dome’, despite the Tories press release saying it is “in essence, a ‘British Iron Dome'”…

Badenoch told BBC Breakfast it would be funded by setting aside £1 billion a year for a decade, adding on the Today programme that the Shield is “the same type of thing” as Israel’s Iron Dome, but said Britain needed “something specific for the kind of threat that we face here“. Just don’t call it a Dome, clear?

What do we do in the meantime????
